New York, 1948: The premiere of "The Naked City", a film noir by Jules Dassin, with the streets of New York in the main role. I like the slogan on the original poster: "Filmed on the streets of New York, with a cast of eight million New Yorkers!" This "shooting on location" transformed the film industry that used to make films in studios. The introduction narrated by the producer of the film,Mark Hellinger, makes an impression of a documentary (As the introduction about post-war Vienna in Carol Reed’s film "The Third Man". I should mention this Reed’s masterpiece, because I didn’t succeed to make a good drawing about "The Third Man", my favourite film in the whole 20th Century).
