Germany, 1929: Erich Maria Remarque published "All Quiet on the Western Front", a anti-war novel about "generation of men who, even though they may have escaped shells, were destroyed by the war." 
The novel was a huge world success, translated in 25 languages and sold in millions copies in just two years. Lewis Milestone made the film after the novel, with the same title; the film won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1930, and Milestone won the Academy Award for Directing.
In my drawing, this armored fighting vehicle designed for the sowing of death, has two large-calibre guns, which looks as arms of a soldier who doesn’t want to fight at all. I'm afraid, he rather wants to surrender himself.
