Berlin, 1929: Thetre director and producer, Erwin Piscator, published his book "Das Politische Theater" (The Political theatre), about his political engagement through theatre, from 1919 to 1929. He always wanted "direct actions" in theatre and directed the plays as a form of political propaganda. As Marcus Porcius Cato, who would always end his speeches with "Ceterum censeo, Carthaginem esse delendam" (Furthermore, I think Carthage must be destroyed), Piscator's theatre was sending the message to the audience: Ceterum censeo, societatem civilem esse delendam. (Furthermore, I think bourgeois society must be destroyed).
