Vienna, 1921: Arnold Schoenberg came to a radically new idea of composing on the bases of a musical scale, which consists entirely of 12 semitones. All the notes on a keyboard, black and white, are used for this scale. As for Schoenberg, I like what he said many years later about George Gershwin: "The music was Gershwin’s native language." As they told me and as I remember, my first drawings of small fish (when I was 3 year old), were made significantly before I learned to write the word Fish. Drawing must be my native language.
