Paris, 1912: The world premiere of ballet "Daphnis et Chloé", with music composed by Maurice Ravel, choreographed by Mikhail Fokine and with Tamara Karsavina and Vaslav Nijinsky in the title roles. Set design was made by Leon Bakst, a Russian painter and set and costume designer, who lived in Paris. His set design (for the Second Act, the only one I’ve succeeded to find Online) is beautiful, full of trees and greens, hills and valleys. Normally; Daphnis is a goatherd, Chloé is a shepherdess, and they live their idyllic lives (before bad guys – pirates enter the scene). I confess, my landscape is more convenient for Beckett’s "Waiting for Godot", but I put the accent on the love.
