Berlin, 1910: Herwarth Walden, founded magazine "Der Sturm" (The Storm). Through this magazine, and than the gallery with the same name, Walden will promote not only expressionism, but also other avant-garde art and literature from all over the Europe. The last issue of magazine was published in 1932. I like a photograph of Herwarth Walden and his second wife Nell Roslund, the artist from Sweden, taken in 1916, in their apartment in Potsdamerstrasse. On the photograph they are sitting, in the dining room, in front of two paintings by Marc Chagall on the walls. They are watching each other tenderly over two cups of tea, as a live example of Chagall painted lovers.
