1905, Dresden: The expressionist art movement known as "Die Brücke" (The Bridge) is founded by four young student of architecture: Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Fritz Bleyl. Their everyday’s meetings in an improvised atelier in Berlinstrasse were recorded in a diary (album) with the title "Odi profanum" (From Horace’s "Odi profanum vulgus et arceo"- I hate the ignorant crowd and I keep them at a distance).
